GPS Grid Layout

Using the exclusive method for geophysical program layout, we start all line cutting programs with a digital map and coordinate file for the desired grid. From OZIexplorer, we program our GPS units and proceed to the field to prepicket the lines with flagging.

The line cutters then chase the flaglines cutting the lines to the desired width, straightness, and cleanliness. We follow up tagging the line with GPS. Our lines generally maintain a +/- 2 meter left right accuracy with no accumulating azimuthal or chainage error.

Heli Drill Pad Construction

As our specialty, we've successfully built over 200 heli drill pads and heli pads since 2005. With minimal supervision and oversite, we can locate, fall out, and build the most skookum drill pads. We have never had a pad failure nor an injury.

Balancing safety and the environment, we work closely with the helicopter pilot to make the minimum opening in the canopy for the pilots safety without creating an enormous environmental scar.

Line Cutting

All our cutters have chainsaw safety certifications or faller certification. Our chase the flag method, combined with chaining after the line has been cut, optimizes our cutters' efficiency. Since pickets are not always straight enough to maintain accurate line bearing, we chain the line. Likewise with cutting: we start cutting in the most logical location without having to worry about carrying the chainage from base line.

We hang Hi-Vis numbered Tyvek tags on a tree at the station. No pickets to trip over, no poor handwriting on the end, no dropped stations. With our GPS layout, each station is a unique and reproducible coordinate that can be navigated to from anywhere in the clients' program. Give the station coordinate to the pilot and he can hover over it.
